I must admit I did not read the whole book, as I gave up more than half the way throught it. This was due to two things:a. This a personal reason. Since the book description says "Bring a little Zen into your education at home, and use the power of experience, mindfulness, and acceptance to create an amazing homeschooling life." I assumed it had practical advice, which was really not the case, except for the ocassional tip. (AS I said, I did not read the whole book, it might be at the end)I wish the descrption was more accurate.
b. It seems to me the book needs serious editorial work. There are "themes" that go on for pages, without really adding anything into the discussion. It seemed a little repetitive to me.
Overall I found the book to be on "reflections on zen homeschooling" than a guide to implement it. If you are looking for a book that introduces some zen principles related to education discussion, this might be for you.
If you are looking into HOW to apply bhuddism (not specifically zen) on your homeschool, I found "Buddhism for Mothers: A Calm Approach to Caring for Yourself and Your Children" much more helpful.

I haven't read this book yet, but I have read Takahashi's blog, and as an unschooler myself, I can say that she is a smart lady with great compassion, and I really like her ideas. I am excited to read this, and I will report back when I do. Her blogs are helpful, and for me, a great way to maintain perspective.
